A Fun and Festive Art Project for K-5th Graders

Perfect to brighten your winter days, this project is ideal for adapting to multiple ages.

For Younger Students:

Create patterns with a wax crayon and then cover with watercolor. Watch the magic as the crayon patterns pop thru the watercolor.

Cut out the finished sweater and paste onto a piece of construction paper.

Cozy Sweaters - Winter Watercolor Project (1)

For Older Students

Take the design up a notch by adding background details in crayon onto the watercolor paper.

Paint the background a different color and while the watercolor paint is still wet, use table salt to create texture.

For 5th Grade Students

Create a pattern that implies texture, such as tassels, fringe, or puffy yarn sleeves. Use letters such as ho ho ho as a pattern.

Add a patterned background as well.

Thank You for Creating With US
