I was tired of looking around trying to find easy-to-implement art resources that fit our homeschool needs. Really, I wanted something that taught more about the elements of art than a paper pate sun, but less than an in-depth study of Van Gogh…it’s Kindergarten for goodness sake.

So I decided to build it. Let me explain the what’s, why’s, and how’s right now.

SpunkandTenacity Was Designed for Busy Homeschool Parents

After searching Pinterest, I found that there were many resources out there for the pre-k crowd. Googling homeschool resources led me to some in-depth art studies more suited to older grades.

Admittedly, there are some wonderful membership sites that we explored, but they were out of reach financially. Which is a problem I desperately wanted to solve. Sometimes the families that are least able to spare the funds are the ones longing to offer art and other enrichment to their children.

Regardless of whether you homeschool full-time, part-time, with one child or multiple, time is always a short commodity. So, I sought to develop a resource that would help parents create art with their children and then turn that art into something tangible.

You see, I firmly believe that the process of publishing art is the most valuable aspect for our children. When that art is made into a card, a framed piece of art, a pillow, shirt, book, or even a kite that we fly with a piece of twine; we are validating its worth.

It’s this part of the art process that I think parents are most overwhelmed by. What to do with all those piles of art, and the technical skills sometimes necessary to turn them into the final product?
